Priscilla Movie Review
Like Marie Antoinette, Priscilla is captivating content presented with a calm confidence; at least two thirds of the way through, it feels like it’s very nearly one of this director’s most visually striking and inspired pictures, both in terms of structure and acting. Regardless of whether you perceive a deeper personal connection between Coppola and the story—I would need a psychology degree to fully analyze the circumstances surrounding this director’s possible closeness to a figure such as Francis Coppola—the film primarily functions as a narrative that explains why a young woman would fall in love with this man at this particular time.
This film had a massive, fascinating, cinematic visual impact that started with an impeccable, dark-eyed, brown astonishment and ended with a thought-provoking, gloomy, and melancholic feeling. It was breathtakingly beautiful and riveting. I was enthralled with the aesthetic, and Sofia’s skill as a filmmaker had me soaking up every one of her scenes, hues, and comedies as though they were the most iconic but timeless def silhouettes and Instagram filter camera work and imagery. Like a love song, there wasn’t much going on other than the two divas’ perfect relationship and mental state, and the surroundings did a great job of expressing their appearances.
Even though there were three or more bumps in the movie, I still thought the music was great and the running duration was reasonable. I enjoy it when a movie makes you appear or feel a certain way while also contorting your face or evoking ephemeral feelings in you. I think Sofia did a great job at pulling off the Grease-style moment, bringing in her own conceited, self-indulgent, and enduring persona. This movie really caught my attention, and I consider it to be my all-time favorite because of its high occupancy, stunning visuals, cool color scheme, and emotional impact.
