Jigarthanda Double X, directed by one of my favourite filmmakers, Karthik Subbaraj, is a true MASTERPIECE, with a masterful story and screenplay. This is Raghava Lawrence’s best performance in a long time, and SJ Suryah, the ever-dependable Nadippu Arakkan, turns in another outstanding performance. It’s really brilliant how Karthik Subbaraj incorporated real-life events like betrayals and backstabbing towards the Tamil community. The underlying themes of the film are easily understood by those acquainted with Tamil Nadu politics, which makes it an engaging watch. This film is a great option for a family movie this Deepavali week, even for those who are not familiar with Tamil Nadu politics.
Subbaraj successfully maintains viewer interest throughout; there is never a moment that seems to be missed. I was moved to tears by the film’s emotional impact in the last forty minutes, which helped me to connect with it deeply. SaNa’s songs and background score really enhance the overall impact of the movie, demonstrating his deep sense of the audience’s pulse. With over two decades of experience, cinematographer Tirru has created visually stunning and unquestionably beautiful scenes. His work is truly indescribable. With his extraordinary editing abilities, editor Shafique Mohamed Ali adds a touch of pure magic and fire to every movie he edits, helping to create timeless cinematic masterpieces.
Nimisha’s performance in her second Tamil film exudes strength and purity, and Sanchana’s character has a significant impact as well. The antagonists give performances that are breathtakingly intense and dramatic, giving the movie a unique depth.
